Sue Lim is an Assistant Professor in the College of Liberal Arts at Purdue University, specializing in the examination of interpersonal dynamics underlying human-AI interaction. Her research focuses on the ways that artificial intelligence (AI), extended reality (XR), and emerging technologies influence human judgment, decision-making, and behavior in various contexts. Currently, her work emphasizes three main streams of investigation: 1) analyzing interpersonal dynamics in human-AI interactions; 2) designing emerging technology-based interventions for specific groups and populations; and 3) utilizing AI and XR as methodological tools to study human decision-making behavior. Sue employs a variety of methodological approaches, including physiological and behavioral measures, computational methods, qualitative interviews, and self-reports to tackle her research questions. Before joining Purdue, she completed her Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Michigan State University, where she was affiliated with the CARISMA Lab in the Department of Communication. Sue holds a B.S. in Economics with a concentration in Marketing from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Ph.D. in Communication from Michigan State University.
