Biography

Sue Woodward is a Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing at King's College London. She has been involved in teaching and researching incontinence care, bowel and bladder symptom management, and long-term conditions. After qualifying as a registered nurse in 1988, Sue worked in regional neuroscience units in London. She transitioned to full-time lecturing at King's College London in 1999 and completed her PhD studies in 2011. Sue has co-edited two significant texts in the field: the 'Oxford Handbook of Neuroscience Nursing' (2009) and 'Neuroscience Nursing - Evidence-based Practice' (2011), contributing to the development of neuroscience nursing literature. Her current research focuses on bowel management in patients with inflammatory bowel disease and Multiple Sclerosis. In addition to her research, Sue is actively involved in clinical education, serving as the Chair of the Royal College of Nursing Neurosciences Forum committee, and she is the Editor-in-Chief of the British Journal of Neuroscience Nursing. In recognition of her contributions to the field, she was awarded a Fellowship from the Royal College of Nursing in 2017.
