Biography

Sufia Turner is a senior instructor and Simulation Program Lead at the College of Nursing at the University of Manitoba. She graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing in 2005, after which she worked as a medical nurse at St. Boniface Hospital before moving to Lodi, California. In California, she worked as a travel nurse and completed a critical care nurse-training program at Stanford University Hospital Clinics in 2008. In 2013, Sufia returned to Canada and worked in the surgical intensive care unit at Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg before joining the University of Manitoba in 2014. At the College of Nursing, she has taken on various teaching roles, including skills lab instructor and clinical education facilitator. Sufia has been instrumental in the ongoing simulation curriculum development for the program. In 2019, she earned the credential of Canadian Certified Simulation Nurse Educator from the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing and continues to be actively involved in teaching theory courses and developing simulation programs.
