M. Suhail Zubairy is a University Distinguished Professor and the holder of the Munnerlyn/Heep Endowed Chair in Quantum Optics at Texas A&M University’s Department of Physics and Astronomy. He has published several authoritative books including 'Quantum Optics' and 'Quantum Mechanics for Beginners.' Zubairy has received numerous prestigious awards such as the Willis E. Lamb Award for Laser Science and Quantum Optics, the Alexander von Humboldt Research Prize, and various honors from the Government of Pakistan. He is an elected member of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences and a Fellow of the American Physical Society and the Optical Society of America.
