Biography

Suin Yi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas A&M University. He obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2017. Prior to that, he earned an M.S. in Energy Science Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in 2012 and a B.S. in Electronic Electrical Engineering from Sungkyunkwan University in 2010. His research focuses on developing brain-like computing algorithms and computer architectures, emphasizing memristor-based application-specific integrated circuits (ASIC), and exploring non-deterministic polynomial-time hard combinatorial optimizations. He is also interested in the compact modeling of neuromorphic devices and the investigation of nanoscale heat and charge transport in thermoelectric devices. Yi has received several accolades for his contributions, including the Graduate Teaching Fellowship from Texas A&M University in 2016 and the Poster Award at the Texas A&M Energy Institute Research Workshop in 2015.
