Dr. Sukh Singh

Biography

Sukh Singh graduated in Medicine from Cambridge University and trained in respiratory medicine and clinical pharmacology. He completed his MD at the University of Manchester and became a senior lecturer in respiratory pharmacology at University Hospital South Manchester in 2003. His research focuses on pharmacotherapy related to asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), encompassing studies that range from basic pharmacological investigations to clinical trials evaluating anti-inflammatory drug actions. Singh serves as the medical director of the Medicines Evaluation Unit, where he leads proof of concept studies aimed at understanding and treating obstructive lung diseases. He oversees the translational airway pharmacology group, which investigates inflammation in asthma and COPD, and conducts research using human lung tissue models. Singh has significant academic links to various professional societies, being a member of organizations such as the British Thoracic Society and the American Thoracic Society. He has also supervised numerous medical students and contributed to undergraduate examinations and seminars. Singh actively collaborates on international projects and is involved in several ongoing research initiatives.
