Biography

Sukhbir Singh is a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Ottawa Hospital/University of Ottawa and an Associate Scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, where he holds the E. Jolly Research Chair in Gynecologic Surgery. He completed his medical training at the University of Western Ontario, earning his MD in 2000, and his FRCSC in 2005. He also completed fellowships in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at the University of Toronto and the University of Sydney. Dr. Singh has established a nationally recognized clinical practice focused on complex surgical gynecology, including endometriosis and uterine fibroids. He has held leadership roles such as Fellowship Director for the AAGL Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecology and Surgical Director of the Ottawa Hospital's Shirley E. Greenberg Women's Health Centre. As a co-founder and past Executive Director of the Canadian Society for the Advancement of Gynecologic Excellence (CanSAGE), he is committed to disseminating knowledge and educational principles in gynecologic surgery. His extensive contributions include over 250 invited presentations worldwide, 50 formal courses, and about 150 publications, demonstrating a significant impact on the field.
