Biography

Sukhdeep Dulai is a Full Professor in the Department of Surgery within the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta and a Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Stollery Children’s Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospitals in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She is a founding member and past president of the Canadian Paediatric Orthopaedic Group (now CPOS) and currently serves as the director of the Canadian Orthopaedic Foundation. Dr. Dulai has held notable positions such as the executive member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Orthopaedic Surgery examinations committee and is President of the Canadian Orthopaedic Association for the term 2025-2026. She completed her medical school and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Alberta, followed by fellowships in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at Children’s Hospital Westmead in Sydney, Australia, and BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, BC. Dr. Dulai earned a Master of Health Science in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of British Columbia. Her clinical interests include limb deformities, hip dysplasia, and neuromuscular disorders. Dr. Dulai is also the co-chair of the Paediatric Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Medicine Research Team in Alberta (PORRTAL) and is involved with the orthopaedic lead for the Paediatric Developmental Hip Dysplasia study group at the Women and Children’s Health Research Institute. She is passionate about improving pediatric orthopaedic care for underserved populations and understanding surgeon well-being in the Canadian environment, while promoting initiatives that contribute to developing healthier, sustainable surgical practices and health systems to improve overall patient care.
