Biography

Sulaiman Nanji is an Associate Professor at Queen's University in the Department of Surgery. He earned his MD and PhD and holds the designation of clinical investigator from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. His training includes dual fellowship accreditation in hepatobiliary pancreatic surgery and multi-visceral organ transplantation. Dr. Nanji has conducted research in institutions across Canada, including the Universities of British Columbia, Alberta, and Toronto, as well as Emory University and Kings College Hospital in London. He has also collaborated with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). His current research interests are in oncology, particularly the surgical treatment of hepatobiliary pancreatic malignancies, and he conducts translational research in epigenetics related to human liver cancer using genetic profiling to risk stratify and treat patients. Additionally, he carries out epidemiological health services research on HPB malignancies at the Cancer Research Institute at Queen's University.
