Sumonkanti Das completed his PhD in Statistics at the University of Wollongong, focusing on Small Area Estimation (SAE) and robust inference for poverty mapping. In addition to his research, Mr. Das serves as a Course Coordinator in the ANU Statistical Support Network and maintains an affiliation as a faculty member with the Department of Statistics at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology in Bangladesh. His primary research interests include the implementation of small area estimation methodologies in population health, nutrition, and demography, with specific expertise in multilevel modeling of complex survey data.
