Dr. Sundes Kazmir

Biography

Sundes Kazmir, MD, is an Assistant Professor in Pediatrics at the Yale School of Medicine. She obtained her MD from New York University and completed her pediatric residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital, followed by a fellowship in Child Abuse Pediatrics at Northwestern University. Dr. Kazmir is board-certified in General Pediatrics and Child Abuse Pediatrics. Her research focuses on primary prevention of child physical abuse, support for caregivers facing intimate partner violence, and improving communication in cases of abuse and neglect. Additionally, she serves on the Pediatric Ethics Committee and is the Associate Clerkship Director for the Pediatric Clerkship for Yale medical students. Dr. Kazmir has been recognized with multiple teaching awards for her contributions to medical education. Her clinical specialty is in Child Abuse Pediatrics, where she emphasizes the importance of supporting families through crises and improving outcomes for children through collaborative efforts with social workers and law enforcement.
