Biography

Sune Vork Steffensen, Ph.D. from Aarhus University, is a Professor in the Department of Culture and Language at the University of Southern Denmark and serves as Chair at the Danish Institute for Advanced Study. His research primarily explores the interplay between human cognition and language, especially how thinking and speaking mediate interactions among individuals, groups, and societies within social and material environments. He is an internationally recognized leader in ecolinguistics and has developed a transdisciplinary approach that integrates radical embodied cognitive science, ecological dialogical linguistics, and Marxist anthropology. His significant contributions are evidenced in six edited volumes and 80 articles and book chapters. Sune currently holds the position of Editor-in-Chief of the journal Language Sciences.
