Biography

Sunil's research focuses on questions related to inequality and discrimination, particularly in the context of development. He serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Development Studies and is currently leading an ESRC-funded project on the role of small firms in UK-India trade. With a PhD in Economics from the University of East Anglia, and having completed his MA in Economics at the Delhi School of Economics, as well as a BA (Hons) in Mathematics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, Sunil has a robust academic foundation. His work experience includes a significant involvement with the Social Initiatives Group at ICICI Bank, previously a major funder of non-profit initiatives in India. His research interests encompass inequality, discrimination, causal inference, microeconometrics, caste, and economic development in India, gaining insights into education inequalities across Latin America as well.
