Professor Dr. Sunil Pansare

Biography

Sunil V. Pansare is a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry at Memorial University of Newfoundland. His research focuses on organic synthesis with an emphasis on asymmetric processes and organocatalysis. Pansare has developed various methodologies for the total synthesis of biologically relevant natural products, particularly alkaloids, utilizing chiral controllers and designing organocatalytic reactions for carbon-carbon bond formation. Over the years, his group has worked extensively on the enantioselective synthesis of functionalized organic molecules, including pyrrolidines, indolizidines, and hydroxy amino acid motifs. Pansare's recent projects delve into novel organocatalysts for fundamental reactions and complex molecular scaffolds through diversity-oriented synthesis. He has numerous publications in esteemed journals showcasing his contributions to the field.
