Dr. Sunil Patel is an Associate Professor and Attending Staff at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre with a specialization in colorectal surgery. He is fellowship trained in minimally invasive surgery, robotic surgery, and laparoscopic techniques, particularly in transanal total mesorectal excision (Ta-TME). His research interests focus on identifying barriers to treatment for colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease patients, as well as utilizing smartphone technology to provide clinically effective, evidence-based healthcare. Dr. Patel is involved with multiple clinical trials aimed at improving outcomes in colorectal surgery.
