Biography

Dr. Sunmee Kim is an Assistant Professor at the University of Manitoba and serves as a research affiliate at the Centre on Aging. She obtained her academic degrees from Korea University, South Korea, with a double major in Statistics and Psychology, followed by a Master's in Mathematical Statistics. After pursuing a PhD in Quantitative Psychology and Modelling at McGill University, she completed her doctoral studies in 2020. She combines her expertise in psychology and statistical modeling to advance the understanding and application of statistical methodologies. Dr. Kim is particularly focused on longitudinal data methods, knowledge-based dimension reduction, and the application of advanced quantitative methods. She actively collaborates with domain experts in Health, Sociology, and Space Systems on large epidemiological studies, aiming to communicate advanced quantitative concepts in an accessible manner to domain researchers. Dr. Kim has also contributed to the academic community through various outreach initiatives.
