Biography

Suprio Ray received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Toronto and his M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia. He currently leads the Big Data Systems Analytics Lab and is associated with the Centre for Advanced Studies (CAS) and the Atlantic Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity (CIC). His research focuses on building scalable data systems and developing novel approaches to query processing and data analysis. Prior to his academic career, he worked in the software industry for several years. He has won paper awards and is a co-inventor on a patent. He also received the Harrison McCain Foundation Young Scholars Award.
