Biography

Suresh Chand is the Louis Weil Jr. Chair and Professor of Management at the Daniels School of Business, Purdue University, specializing in Supply Chain Operations Management. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Administration from Carnegie Mellon University, along with an M.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Texas, and both an M. Tech. and B. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. Professor Chand's research interests include the analysis and improvement of production processes with a focus on cost, quality, time, and flexibility in both manufacturing and healthcare applications. He has published over 50 articles in leading journals such as Operations Research and Management Science. In addition to his research, he has served as an Associate Editor for various journals and as the General Chair for the annual international conference of the Production Operations Management Society. His teaching repertoire encompasses a wide range of Operations Management courses at Purdue, including core MBA courses and electives, as well as doctoral seminars. He has been recognized as an Outstanding and/or Distinguished teacher and served as the Associate Dean for Graduate Programs from 2013 to 2016.
