Dr. Suresh Mohan

Biography

Suresh Mohan, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in Otolaryngology at Yale School of Medicine. He specializes in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery of the face, head, and neck, performing procedures such as facial reanimation, free tissue transfer for head and neck cancer reconstruction, aesthetic and functional rhinoplasty, skin cancer reconstruction, facial trauma repair, and gender affirmation surgery. Dr. Mohan completed a residency in Otolaryngology at Harvard Medical School/Mass Eye Ear, where he focused on the response of Schwann cells to nerve injury in relation to facial palsy treatment. He has a keen interest in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, believing that faces play a crucial role in human connection by conveying emotions and thoughts. Dr. Mohan has authored over 30 peer-reviewed publications and has received numerous awards for his research and teaching, including the Jeffrey P. Harris MD, PhD Research Award at Harvard. He balances his clinical practice with a commitment to research on peripheral nerve regeneration and Schwann cell behavior, which aims to improve surgical outcomes. In his spare time, he enjoys the performing arts and is an avid runner and vegetarian foodie. Dr. Mohan is dedicated to understanding each patient's unique concerns to provide tailored surgical options, fostering mutual respect and trust in the patient-doctor relationship.
