Dr. Surya Kalidindi

Biography

Surya Kalidindi is a Professor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has a distinguished academic background, having obtained his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1992, specializing in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Mechanics of Materials. His research interests are broadly focused on the design of material internal structures to achieve optimal performance for selected applications. This includes identifying hybrid processing routes for manufacturing, employing a harmonious blend of experimental, theoretical, and numerical approaches in his research. He is a member and fellow of several prestigious organizations such as the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, the American Society of Metals International, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and the Minerals, Metals & Materials Society.
