Surya Santoso is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin, holding the Engineering Foundation Centennial Teaching Fellowship. Over the past 20 years, his students have published over 40 journal articles and 100 conference papers, earning citations exceeding 8,800. He has supervised 15 doctoral and 30 master’s students, many of whom have gone on to become professors, researchers, and engineers. Santoso has co-authored several significant publications, including "Electrical Power Systems Quality" and was the sole author of the textbook "Fundamental Electric Power Quality." He has served in various leadership roles within IEEE, including as a Distinguished Lecturer and Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Power Systems. His ongoing research includes the development of intelligent systems for enhancing electric power grid infrastructure, as well as modeling renewable energy impacts on transmission and distribution systems.
