Susan Burrows graduated from the University of Leeds in 1988 with a degree in Textile Chemistry and obtained her PhD in Materials Physics from the University of Warwick in 1995. She is involved in delivering the Communicating Science module (PX376) and employs her interest in music when lecturing on science, particularly in acoustic instruments. As a Juno/Athena SWAN lead, she advocates for equality and diversity in her department, which currently holds a Juno Champion award from the Institute of Physics and an Athena SWAN Silver award.
