Biography

Susan Colberg is a Professor and Design Studies Coordinator at the University of Alberta, specializing in Visual Communication Design. She earned her Master of Visual Arts in Visual Communication Design from the University of Alberta in 1991 and is a Fellow of the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada. Her work focuses on various aspects of design, including Book/Publication Design, Typography, Information Design, Visual Identity Design, and Book Arts. Colberg has garnered numerous national and international design awards and has exhibited her work in Canada, China, Cuba, Egypt, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Japan, Korea, Lithuania, Poland, Switzerland, Turkey, New Zealand, and the United States. Her designs have been included in permanent collections at prestigious institutions such as the Fitzwilliam Museum at the University of Cambridge and the Houghton Library at Harvard University. She has also served as the Canadian National Representative for the International Council of Graphic Design Associations (ico-D).
