Biography

Susan M. Davies is the Steven Maureen Klinsky Visiting Professor of Practice at Harvard Law School, where she teaches courses on Legislation and Regulation. She has an extensive background in law and public service, having served as Deputy White House Counsel to President Barack Obama. In this role, she managed the Supreme Court confirmations of Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan. Before her tenure in the White House, Davies worked for the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee and the Department of Justice during the Clinton Administration. She also clerked for Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy and Judge Stephen Breyer during Breyer's judicial nomination. In addition to her academic responsibilities, Davies currently practices law in Washington, D.C.
