Dr. Susan Greenhalgh

Biography

Susan Greenhalgh is the Wilma Cannon Fairbank Research Professor of Chinese Society and a Faculty Associate (emerita) at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University. Her academic work focuses on the social studies of science, technology, and medicine, exploring themes in global health, public health policy, and corporate corruption science. She has conducted extensive research on issues related to state governance and public policy, particularly in the context of the obesity epidemic and the politics of reproduction and population. Greenhalgh's interests also include gender studies, socialism, postsocialism, and the social dynamics within the People's Republic of China and Taiwan. Her scholarly contributions underscore the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in understanding complex social phenomena, particularly in the realms of health and policy across different cultural contexts.
