Biography

Susan Lamb is the Jason Hannah Chair in the History of Medicine at the University of Ottawa and an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine’s Department of Innovation in Medical Education. Her scholarly interests span the history of medicine, focusing on diverse subject matter, and her research program includes work on the historical development of medical education, anatomy, pathology, psychiatry, nursing, and global health issues. She obtained her Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University in 2010 and has taught at renowned institutions including McGill University and Queen's University. In addition to her teaching, she has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and is the author of "The Pathologist's Mind: Adolf Meyer and the Origins of American Psychiatry," published by Johns Hopkins University Press.
