Biography

Susan Lee is the founding director of the Dance Program in the Department of Theatre at Northwestern University. She has authored numerous articles and chapters focused on dance and dancers. Lee founded the journal American Dance for the American Dance Guild and was the founding director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in the Arts (CIRA) at Northwestern University. She co-sponsored the Jazz Dance World Congress and the International Argentine Tango Congress. Lee has served on the board of the Medical Program for Performing Artists at Northwestern's Rehabilitation Institute and is involved with various national dance organizations, including the American Dance Guild and the Chicago Dance Coalition. Additionally, she is on the editorial board of the Journal of Medical Problems of Performing Artists and has served on regional and local peer review panels as a dance professional presenter.
