Dr. Susan Lozier

Biography

Susan Lozier is a Professor and the Dean of the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She holds the Betsy Middleton John Clark Sutherland Chair. Her research focuses on ocean circulation and its impact on climate processes. She has contributed significantly to our understanding of the physical oceanography through both observational and modeling studies. Lozier's work integrates complex numerical simulations with field observations to address questions related to the role of the ocean in the Earth’s climate system. She is widely published in leading academic journals and has served on numerous committees that guide research and policy in the fields of oceanography and climate sciences.
