Biography

Susan Sinnott is a Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Pennsylvania State University, where she also serves as the Department Head. She received her B.S. degree with honors in chemistry from the University of Texas in 1987 and completed her Ph.D. in physical chemistry at Iowa State University in 1993. After a National Research Council Post Doctoral Associate stint at the Naval Research Laboratory, she joined the University of Kentucky as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical & Materials Engineering. At Florida, she directed the Cyberinfrastructure Atomistic Simulation project and contributed significantly to several academic and professional circles, including serving as Editor-in-Chief of 'Computational Materials Science'. She joined Pennsylvania State University in 2015 and has built a robust research profile, focusing on computational materials, employing advanced simulation techniques and theoretical approaches to understand material properties and behaviors.
