Dr. Susannah Rowe

Biography

Susannah G. Rowe, MD, is an Assistant Professor at the Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, Boston University, specializing in surgical and laser treatment for eye diseases. She completed her residency at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and is also a participant in the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program. Rowe focuses on researching the connections between occupational well-being and personal identities, including race, ethnicity, gender, and LGBTQIA2S+ identities. She actively engages in clinical teaching and has been recognized with the Outstanding Surgical Instructor Teaching Award. In her administrative role, she serves as the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Chair for the Wellness Professional Vitality Council at the Boston University Medical Group, where she promotes equity-centered leadership programs. Her research efforts investigate the impact of the new EHR documentation burden on clinician burnout and professional fulfillment, with projects funded by the American Medical Association Foundation.
