Biography

Susanne Strätling is a Professor of General and Comparative Literature with a focus on Slavic Literatures at the Free University of Berlin. Since 2020, she has been part of the Peter Szondi Institute for General and Comparative Literature Studies. She has held several prestigious positions, including Deputy Managing Director of the Peter Szondi Institute and member of the DFG Senate and Approval Board for Graduate Colleges. Professor Strätling has been a prominent academic in her field, serving as a PI at the Friedrich Schlegel Graduate School for Literary Studies and as a Fellow at the DFG Kolleg Research Group on 'Imaginaries of Power'. Her educational background includes significant teaching and research roles across multiple institutions, focusing on Slavic literatures, cultural history, and literary theory.
