Biography

Suvir Kaul is the M. Rosenthal Professor Emeritus of English at the University of Pennsylvania. He earned his bachelor's degree with honors from the University of Delhi, followed by an M. Phil. and Ph.D. from Cornell University. Kaul began his career at SGTB Khalsa College in Delhi and has taught at prestigious institutions such as the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Stanford University, and Jamia Millia Islamia as a visiting professor. His contribution to the principles of academic freedom has been influential, and he has chaired various doctoral dissertations, fostering a new generation of scholars in the field.
