Dr. Suvrajeet Sen

Biography

Professor Suvrajeet Sen serves as the program director at the National Science Foundation (NSF) with responsibilities in Operations Research and Service Enterprise Engineering programs. He has also led cyber infrastructure planning activities within the Engineering Directorate. He holds a concurrent appointment as a professor in the Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering at the University of Arizona. His editorial contributions include serving on the editorial boards of journals such as Operations Research, where he has acted as Area Editor for Optimization, and as Associate Editor for INFORMS Journal on Computing among others. Sen has held leadership positions including past-Chair of the INFORMS Telecommunications Section and is a founding member of the INFORMS Optimization Section. He was recognized as an INFORMS Fellow in 2014. His research focuses on modeling and optimization technologies applicable in infrastructure systems, including electric power markets and telecommunications networks, with specialties in large-scale stochastic optimization and integer programming.
