Biography

Dr. Suzan Eren is an Associate Professor and Queen’s National Scholar in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Queen’s University. She completed her Bachelor’s with class honors, Master’s, and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Queen’s University in 2006, 2008, and 2013 respectively. Her industrial experience includes significant collaboration with SPARQ Systems in developing highly efficient solar micro-inverters. Dr. Eren has authored 60 publications and holds 12 U.S. patents. As a Professional Engineer in Ontario, she serves as an associate editor for the IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Industrial Electronics and the IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics. She is also the chair of the IEEE Kingston Section. Her research interests focus on the application of power electronics in controlling micro-grids, renewable energy, and electric vehicle storage.
