Biography

Suzanne Bain-Donohue has a background in community development and has worked in both private and public domains. She has extensive experience as an executive director of a national disability organization and has sat on numerous national and state committees, providing integral input into research and social participation, as well as delivering key reports. In 2016, she completed qualitative research on students’ lived experiences of dyslexia within the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) education system. Currently, she is based at the Australian National University (ANU) in the School of Medicine and Psychology within the Indigenous Health Unit. She previously worked at the College of Health and Medicine as the Manager of HealthANSWERS, a translational research partnership covering the ACT and south-east New South Wales. Her research projects have included rural recruitment and retention, intern experiences in rural locations, and medical education related to General Practitioner (GP) Virtual Medical Officers (VMOs) in rural areas.
