Dr. Suzanne Erb

Biography

Suzanne Erb is an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto Scarborough. She takes a multidisciplinary approach to her research, which spans molecular biology, neurochemistry, pharmacology, and behavior, exploring the interface between the brain and behavior in the context of substance dependence. The general objective of her research is to elucidate the neurobiological underpinnings of drug relapse, with a specific focus on understanding the relationship between stress and drug-seeking behavior. Dr. Erb is particularly interested in the various forms of associative learning that contribute to drug-induced neuronal adaptations, which ultimately manifest in behavior. Her research aims to provide insights into how stress influences relapse to drug use, thereby offering potential avenues for developing more effective interventions for substance abuse.
