Biography

Dr. Suzanne Fredericks is a Professor and Research Chair in Urban Health at the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing, Toronto Metropolitan University. Her research primarily focuses on designing and evaluating interventions to support patients undergoing invasive cardiovascular surgical procedures. Dr. Fredericks has received extensive training in advanced research methods through initiatives such as the Canadian Institute of Health Research's Randomized Controlled Trials Mentorship Training Program and has been involved with the Cochrane Collaboration. She holds an Affiliate Scientist position at the Toronto General Hospital Research Institute and is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology. Dr. Fredericks has held significant roles in professional organizations, including as Director of Publications for the Canadian Council of Cardiovascular Nurses and as President of the Lambda Pi-At-Large Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International. She has held editorial positions on various nursing journals and is a co-founder of the International Health Trends Perspectives journal. Her expertise encompasses quantitative research methods, systematic reviews, clinical trials research, and mentorship training. Dr. Fredericks's commitment to nursing research is underscored by numerous awards, including the Leadership Award from the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario and the Excellence in Nursing Research Award from Sigma Theta Tau.
