Suzanne Staggs is the Henry DeWolf Smyth Professor of Physics at Princeton University. She completed her undergraduate studies at Rice University and earned her Ph.D. in Physics from Princeton University in 1993. Her research interests are centered around measuring cosmic microwave background (CMB) radiation which remains from the universal primeval plasma. She is currently a Co-Director of the Simons Observatory (SO) and serves on its Executive Board. Staggs is also the Principal Investigator for the Advanced ACTPol (AdvACT) project, which involves a multichroic detector array used to measure the CMB. She is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS). Her work has been recognized with several prestigious awards including the CAREER Award, the Maria Goeppert-Mayer Award, and a Sloan Fellowship.
