Dr. Suzette Bremault Phillips

Biography

Suzette Bremault-Phillips has joined the University of Alberta in 2011 as a Professor in the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine, specializing in Occupational Therapy. Her research encompasses various aspects related to mental health, trauma-focused psychotherapy, resilience, and the reintegration of uniformed service personnel into civilian life. Dr. Bremault-Phillips is a boundary spanner who connects research with practice, facilitating inter-professional collaboration and knowledge translation. She leads multiple research efforts, including the HIMARC 3MDR study, which aims to address PTSD and moral injury in military and veteran populations. Her scholarly work also extends to exploring interventions that enhance the mental and spiritual well-being of public safety personnel and their families. Bremault-Phillips has contributed extensively to scholarly activities and has published numerous papers in notable journals, focusing on the challenges faced by military families and the development of supportive programs. As a committed advocate for mental health awareness and integration, she serves as a co-chair for the International Veterans Education Employment Group and remains actively involved in initiatives designed for the well-being of veterans and first responders.
