Dr. Suzy Chen

Biography

Suzy Chen is an Optometrist and Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, focusing on comprehensive eye care and glaucoma management. She is a member of the glaucoma team at the Wilmer Eye Institute and sees patients in Bethesda and Columbia, Maryland. Dr. Chen completed her undergraduate degree at Boston College and received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry, graduating at the top of her class. She further completed a residency in ocular disease at the VA Maryland Health Care System before joining Johns Hopkins. Dr. Chen has a keen interest in post-operative surgical care for glaucoma patients and enjoys customizing treatment plans to improve clinical outcomes through collaboration with other specialists. She is actively involved in the American Optometric Association and the Maryland Optometric Association, and has received honors such as the Allergan Resident Travel Fellowship and the GPLI Clinical Excellence Award. Dr. Chen provides exceptional patient care, evidenced by her high ratings and positive reviews from patients.
