Biography

Sven Joubert obtained a PhD in Neuropsychology from the University of Montreal under the supervision of Dr. André Roch Lecours. He then pursued postdoctoral training in the Neurology and Neuropsychology Service at l'Hôpital de la Timone with Professor Michel Poncet, and within the Neurophysiology and Neuropsychology Laboratory of the INSERM EMI 9926 team in Marseille, France. He is currently a researcher at the Research Center of the Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal and a full professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Montreal. Joubert's research focuses on understanding cognitive decline in neurodegenerative diseases and brain changes associated with decline, with specific expertise in Alzheimer's disease and atypical forms of dementia. His interests include the cognitive decline in individuals with mild cognitive impairment and how cognitive changes in normal aging are modulated by various factors. He employs neuroimaging methods such as PIB-PET, MRI, and MEG in his research. He is also a member of the Ordre des psychologues du Québec.
