Dr. Svenja Damberg

Biography

Svenja Damberg is an Associate Professor at Aalborg University, specializing in Sustainability and Circularity. She obtained her doctoral degree from Hamburg University of Technology in Germany in 2022. Following her doctorate, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher on a state-funded sustainable regional development project in Germany. Before joining Aalborg University in 2025, she was an Assistant Professor at the University of Twente. As a research fellow at the DesignLab in Twente and a habilitand affiliated with TUHH, her research addresses sustainable innovation management and entrepreneurship. She is an expert in structural equation modeling and has published in leading journals such as Ecological Economics and Business Strategy and the Environment. Svenja has presented her research at various international conferences, including the Academy of Management and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Cooperative Organization Management. Furthermore, she is a reviewer for top-tier journals, including the Journal of Product Innovation Management and is recognized as a Faculty Innovation Fellow at Stanford's d.school. Her expertise is closely linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals established in 2015, which aim to end poverty and protect the planet while ensuring prosperity for all.
