Biography

Svetlana Kuznetsova earned her B.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada. Her undergraduate studies included an Honors thesis focusing on solid-state dosimeters for low kilovoltage energy ranges, with an emphasis on clinical applications. Her doctoral research centered on Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) for liver treatments, advancing methods for quantifying geometric delivery accuracy. Throughout her academic career, Kuznetsova received numerous awards from both national and international organizations, including accolades from the Natural Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada and the International Organization for Medical Physics. After completing her Ph.D., she was admitted to the Medical Physics Residency Program at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), which she completed in 2023. Subsequently, she joined the Yale New Haven Hospital as a Medical Physicist and is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Therapeutic Radiology at Yale School of Medicine. Kuznetsova is actively involved in developing and standardizing tools and methodologies in radiation oncology.
