Dr. Svitlana Lebedenko

Biography

Svitlana Lebedenko is an Assistant Professor at the University of Warwick's School of Law and contributes to the Global Governance Programme at the European University Institute. She has previously served as a Hauser Global Fellow at New York University's Engelberg Center for Innovation Law & Policy, a Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute, a Research Fellow at the National Research University Higher School of Economics, and a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Copenhagen's Center for Advanced Studies in Bioscience Innovation Law. Her expertise lies in innovation industrial policy, law technology, and intellectual property law. Dr. Lebedenko holds a PhD in Law from the European University Institute, where she was awarded a Special Doctoral Fellowship. She also holds LLM degrees in European Union Law from the College of Europe and in Information Technology and Intellectual Property Law from the National Research University Higher School of Economics. Her forthcoming book, "Russian Innovation Intellectual Property: Communism and Capitalism," will be published by Cambridge University Press in 2026. She welcomes enquiries from prospective PhD candidates wishing to explore impactful issues in her areas of scholarship.
