Biography

Swarnalatha Ashok is a core faculty member of Carnegie Mellon's Master of Software Engineering (MSE) professional programs and serves as the Associate Director for MSE Executive Education and Corporate Engagement. Before joining Carnegie Mellon University, she was a faculty member and Program Director for the Bachelor of Science (Information Systems) degree in Smart-City Management Technology at the School of Computing and Information Systems at Singapore Management University. Prior to that, she fulfilled the role of Chief Master for the Technology (Software Engineering) program at the Institute of Systems Science, National University of Singapore, where she was responsible for ensuring that the curriculum remained relevant to industry professionals. Swarnalatha has also served as Program Director for the Master of Science in Network Planning Simulation at Nanyang Technological University. As an educationist, she has taught various subjects including Software Engineering, API Design, Cloud Computing, and Agile methodologies. She has supervised numerous industry projects and has consulted with organizations such as SISTIC and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore. In her previous roles, Swarnalatha was a Software Engineer and Project Lead at Tata Consultancy Services, where she architected and developed networking systems software. She is also a co-author of the book "Object-Oriented Programming and Java."
