Biography

Sweder van Wijnbergen received his PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1980. From 1980 to 1992, he worked as an economist at the World Bank. In 1992, he became a professor at the University of Amsterdam, a position he continued to hold while also taking a leave of absence to serve as the Secretary General of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. He has served as an external advisor to De Nederlandsche Bank and held various positions such as a board member at several financial institutions.
