Biography

Syed Bilgrami received his Medical Degree from Dow Medical College in 1984. He completed his Residency Training in Internal Medicine at Wayne State University Hospital and the University of Connecticut Health Center. Dr. Bilgrami furthered his education with Fellowship Training in Medical Oncology and Hematology, also at the University of Connecticut Health Center. Additionally, he undertook a special Fellowship in Bone Marrow Transplantation at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Bilgrami joined the Faculty of the University of Connecticut Health Center in 1994 as an Assistant Professor of Medicine and became the Deputy Director of the Bone Marrow Transplant Program. He was appointed Associate Professor of Medicine in 2000. With extensive publications in the field of Clinical Bone Marrow Transplantation, Dr. Bilgrami is regarded as an expert in Blood Cancers.
