Professor Durocher holds a PhD in Management from UQAM and has been a member of the Ordre des CPA du Québec as well as CPA Ontario. He joined the Telfer School of Management in 2006 and has developed Telfer’s Graduate Diploma in Chartered Professional Accountancy (CPA) director program in 2023. He teaches both undergraduate and graduate students and is actively involved in research, particularly in accounting standard setting and the accounting profession from a sustainable development perspective. Durocher has received funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) and the Canadian Academic Accounting Association, contributing to Telfer’s CPA Canada Accounting Governance Research Centre. He has been recognized as Telfer’s Logan-Katz Fellow in 2017 and has organized significant academic events, including colloquia and conferences. With a focus on sociological approaches to accounting research, he studies topics relating to the accounting profession, standard-setting, and modern slavery in social environmental reporting. Durocher has published extensively in refereed journals and has presented his work at numerous conferences both in Canada and internationally, also co-authoring intermediate accounting textbooks utilized in Canada’s Francophone universities.
