Biography

Sylvia Langlois is an Associate Professor Emeritus at the University of Toronto, specializing in Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy. She has served as Associate Director, Academics at the Centre Advancing Collaborative Healthcare Education, where she led the development, implementation, and evaluation of an interprofessional education (IPE) curriculum across university health and social care programs. Professor Langlois is also a Co-Editor of the Journal of Research Interprofessional Practice and Education and is an Education Investigator 2 at the Institute of Education Research, as well as a Wilson Centre Scholar with a cross-appointment at the Institute of Life Course and Aging within the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work. Her research focuses on interprofessional education approaches, collaborative competency assessment, and curricular evaluation, with a particular interest in engaging lived experiences in the IPE curriculum. Furthermore, she has explored the value of incorporating arts and humanities in the development of collaborative competencies. Her work has contributed to the refresh of the Canadian Interprofessional Health Collaborative Competency Framework for Advancing Collaboration.
