Biography

Sylvie Le is a full professor and researcher at the CHU Sainte-Justine Research Center, dedicating her time to teaching, promoting research in pediatric pain management, and enhancing clinical practices in pain management. After obtaining her PhD in Clinical Sciences from the Université de Montréal in 2001, she completed her postdoctoral studies in Nursing Sciences at McGill University from 2003 to 2006, under the supervision of Dr. Céleste Johnston and Dr. Manon Choinière. From 2001 to 2007, she served as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Nursing at Université de Montréal and was promoted to associate professor in 2007. She leads research teams focused on pediatric pain management, particularly in emergency situations involving musculoskeletal trauma in children, as well as issues related to the prevention of chronic pain in adolescents who have undergone scoliosis corrective surgery. Her work has led to significant improvements in the use of pediatric analgesics and nursing practices in pain management across emergency, intensive care, and surgical settings. Her dedication to advancing pain management practices and improving care for children is exemplary for future nurse researchers.
